A new funding proposal was approved by NSF China to the China-VO, 2.4M CNY totally in the coming three years (2018-2020). With the emergence and development of time domain astronomy, many technical challenges arise meanwhile with the large number of discovery opportunities. One of the most challenging requirement is large scale real time data stream processing, including data processing, data fusion, data mining, classification, et al. Based on the scientific requirements of two Strategic Priority Research Programs of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (“Einstein Probe” and “Multi-waveband Gravitational Wave Universe”), key technical capability requirement on Virtual Observatory (VO) from time domain astronomy is extracted, i.e. “efficient fusion of multi-wavelength multi-messenger massive scientific data”. To meet the requirements of Einstein Probe (EP) and furthermore time domain astronomy research projects, China-VO plans to enhance the key capabilities of VO both in functions and in performances through deep research in the following fields: distributed data storage, high performance indexing methods, reliable cross-matching algorithms, visualization of data fusion results, and public Cloud platform solution. Research progresses and achievements of the project will be transformed into scientific service and technical supports for the EP and other time domain astronomy projects.

Through my big data project my group and I continue the provide support to the Indian community of astronomers on data related matters. An important project we have finished, more or less recently is making an archives and data access facility for data obtained from The CZTI hard X-ray detector on board
AstroSat, which is an Indian multiwavelength space observatory. The project was challenging because of the large number of parameters involved, the complex data structures and the need to have the provenance of the large number of files involved in any one observation. The system has been released for internal use and will be made public as aped a mission timetable.
Another project t with which we have made excellent progress is developing archives for Solar data form the Kodaikanal Solar observatory of the Indian Institute of Astrophysics. This data set is absolutely unique being the only such data set in the way rod which has uninterrupted (modular rain and sleet on) multiband Solar observations form the year 1905 to the present. The plate data has recently been digitised and we have built a nice archive s and are in the process of making the system SVO compatible (which is quite different form making a system VO compatible!). The data is extensively used by the community and will have. A prominent part to play in an IAU Symposium in Jaipur in February 2018.
We are continuing to work with biologists to help them make "VO compatible" interfaces for their synchrotron X-ray diffraction data. The progress is slow, in spite of all the goodwill on both sides.
I am working to set up a notional astronomical data centre at my institute.
