---+ GWS Session Schedule - IVOA Nov 2024 Interoperability Meeting * [[InterOpNov2024][back to main programme page]] * ---++ Draft Schedule Time: Saturday, November 16, 09:00-10:30 [[https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=DAL1&iso=20231110T14&p1=393&ah=1&am=30][<br />]] *Location: Room 103* | *Speaker* | *Title* | *Time* | *Material* | *Abstract* | | Dave Morris | Execution Planner Update | 15'+5' | | | | Yan Grange | Software Discovery Characterisation | 15'+5' | | In the SRCNet, we have been working on a prototype of the software distribution system. The goal of the exercise is to provide developers, from within the community, to make the software they buiild available throughout the system using a combination of containers and CVMFS. The technical side of the story is following the approach taken by the EESSI project. However, for software to be usable, we need to define a way to characterise it. During the prototyping we have been looking at how a current standard for software description, codemeta, coud potentially offer us a baseline for the description of software in the SRCNet, and to start a discussion on if and how software characterisation could be done in a uniform and standardised way. | | Brian Major | Image Metadata for Interoperable, Container-based Science Platforms such as CANFAR | 15'+5' | | Containers have become the 'code' in code-to-data science platforms such as CANFAR, the Rubin Science Platform, ESA DataLabs, SciServer, Rosetta, and others. This evolution provides an opportunity for platform interoperability: being able to run science containers, hosted at different containers registries, on different platforms. There are a number of considerations, among them the role of image (software) metadata, and how it can be used for container discovery, and for consistent, reproducible execution in science platforms. In this talk we explore the options for image metadata for platform interoperability, and how it can be applied in the CANFAR Science Platform. | | James Tocknell | SSO-next-based approach to allowing non-browser-based VO clients to use OAuth 2.x/OIDC | 15'+5' | | As covered at previous interops, the SSO standard is showing its age, and the SSO-next effort is trying to address this. One part that has been unclear how to address is the OAuth 2.x/Open ID Connect ecosystem of authorization and authentication. This talk follows up a previous suggestion named 'ivoa-oauth' to the GWS mailing list, with the aim to discover what's been overlooked and what needs are not met by the proposal. | | Sara Bertocco | SSO-next open discussion | | | For some years, in the GWS we have been discussing the SSO update. We have discussed so much and for so long that, perhaps, it is time to write a new specification. I briefly summarize the past discussion, try to take stock, fix some outcomes and leave room for a new discussion. | Moderators: [[IVOA.JesusSalgado][Jesus Salgado]] and [[IVOA.SaraBertocco][Sara Bertocco ]] [[IVOA.JamesDempsey][<br />]] *Notes: TBD* * [[InterOpNov2024][back to main programme page]] *
