---+ [[IvoaVOEvent][VOEvent]] Session at the [[IVOA.InterOpDec2010][Dec 2010 Interop Meeting]] (back to main program page InterOpDec2010#Program) <br> ---++ [[IvoaVOEvent][VOEvent]] Session: Celestial Transient Event Alerting Matthew Graham will be chairing VOEvent discussions in Nara. This session will consist of a status update delivered by Matthew, followed by an open discussion on any related topic, such as: * Time series * Simple Event Access Protocol * VOEvent v2.0 * VOEvent transport protocols, brokers, etc. * Surveys generating transient alerts (eg, LSST, LOFAR, LIGO, ...) * Robotic telescope networks responding to alerts * Classification of celestial phenomena (especially time varying) * Vocabularies for the time domain See Matthew if you have slides to present. Recent activities of the VOEvent Working Group since the Victoria Interop in May 2010: * Roy Williams has been confirmed as Vice Chair * Many thanks to Alasdair Allan, the former Vice Chair * A [[http://wiki.ivoa.net/internal/IVOA/IvoaVOEvent/voevent_v2.html][working draft]] of VOEvent v2.0 was released in September * A revision is in progress, responding to comments to date. Further comment would strengthen the draft! * Roy and Rob Seaman hosted a very successful tutorial, <i>[[http://adass2010.cfa.harvard.edu/ADASS2010/Program/presentations.html#tutorialp][Techniques for time domain astronomy]]</i> at the Boston ADASS * <i>[[http://hotwireduniverse.org][Hot-wiring the Transient Universe]]</i>, a book authored by several members of the WG, was published with about 300 copies distributed to date * Informal discussions pertaining to IAU telegrams are in progress. <br/> <!-- * Set ALLOWTOPICRENAME = IVOA.TWikiAdminGroup -->
